Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic end to our short course season! Here are some highlights from the high school championships:
MCALs:
We had four
swimmers win events at the MCALs. Kathryn Murphy broke her
meet and all-time MCAL record for the 50 Free and won the 100
Free. Kristina Parsons won the 100 Fly, breaking the MCAL
meet record. Scott Staskus won the 500 Free and Taylor
Yamagata won the 100 Breast and set a MCAL meet
record.
NCS:
We qualified 24
swimmers in individual events (our greatest number ever). Max
Horrell won the 100 Fly and broke the 23 year old NCS record and
also took second in the 100 Back. Kathryn Murphy won the 100
Free (breaking the all-time MCAL record) and took second in the 50
Free (breaking her own all-time MCAL record). Kathryn’s
50 Free time was also under the previous NCS record. Kristina
Parsons took fourth in the 100 Fly and broke the all-time MCAL
record for this event. She also took twelfth in the 100
Free. Liliana Alvarez took fifth in the 100 Breast and her
sister Julia took eighth. Laura Slater took fourth in the 100
Free and 10th in the 50 Free. Sabrina
Cochrane took eighth in the 50 Free and tenth in the 200 IM.
