Head Coach Cokie Lepinski is certified as an ASCA coach and a USA Swimming coach. She is a passionate competitor in masters swimming and has numerous Top 10 rankings in US and World competitions. With a background in teaching and training, she brings to her coaching an approach that reaches a wide variety of learning styles and strong fundamental skills in stroke technique. Cokie is active in swimming administration, currently serving as the Chair of the Coaches Committee for Pacific Masters Swimming and a member of the US Masters Coaches Committee. She is swimming the best times of her life and setting US Masters National Records in the women's 50-54 age group 100 & 200 yard breaststroke and the 100 meters (short course meters) breaststroke.
In July 2010, Cokie was named and served as an on-deck coach for the 220 member US national team at the FINA Worlds Masters Championships in Goteburg, Sweden. In August 2010, Cokie was the recipient of a national award from US Masters Swimming. A winner of the "Kerry O'Brien Coaching Award". this award recognizes coaches throughout the nation that contribute to the growth and goals of US Masters Swimming. In the award, Cokie was cited for her skills and passions in delivering her program; for inspiring others through her own competitive swimming accomplishments; and for the dynamics she brings to the deck as a "coach for all".
Assistant Coach Susie Powell is also a member of ASCA and USA Swimming with the same coaching certifications. For the last several years, Susie has been heavily involved with teaching adults how to swim through one-on-one lessons, swim stroke clinics, and a program she designed and coaches, SwimFit, for new and experienced swimmers. Susie also competes in both open water swims and pool competitions. Along with her own Top 10 rankings with US Masters Swimming, she was a contributing member recently in a World Record setting relays. She has an extensive background in fitness and nutrition, and is a retired Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Team Founder Warren Lager has been Head Coach of the Marin Pirates Senior Team for 30 years. His swimmers include Olympic Trial qualifiers, Junior National and National champions, and several All-Americans. Warren provides monthly technique clinics to the Masters team.
